Calling crafters and artists: 2010 Suffield on the Green Crafts Show! The Friends of Suffield invites crafters and artists to apply for the 40th annual Suffield on the Green Crafts Show, September 11 & 12, 2010. Show hours are Saturday 10:00 am to 5:00 pm and Sunday 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. Set-up times for tents and tables are: Friday, September 10th, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm, Saturday from 7:00 am until 9:00 am and Sunday from 9:00 am to 10:30 am. The crafts show takes place on the grounds of the historic Hatheway House at 55 Main Street (Rte. 75) in Suffield, in conjunction with the Suffield on Green community event on the adjacent Town Green. Booths are located in the grassy “courtyard” area and a limited number of spaces are also available inside the barn. Booth fees are $100 (courtyard) and $115 (barn, electricity available). Categories accepted include fine art, handmade crafts, photography, fabric work, ceramics and sculpture, wood carving, jewelry and accessories, children’s items, handmade clothing and handmade furniture. In 2009 the show attracted more than 3,000 shoppers. Vendor amenities include coffee and muffins each morning during set-up times, box-lunch delivery to your booth, and indoor restrooms. We also have local students available to assist in vehicle unloading during Friday and Saturday set-up times. From THE HARTFORD COURANT -------------------- Entertainment Food, Handwork, Contests Available By LIZABETH HALL, Courant Staff Writer SUFFIELD -- ...The fair, covering both the north and south sides of the town green on Route 75, offers various family activities and entertainment for all ages. They include a tea cup auction...a rock-climbing wall and a roving magician. Plenty of food, including locally grown produce, will be on sale. A short skip from the green is the craft sale at the historic Hatheway House Barn and grounds, also on Route 75. This year's show features about 80 booths displaying original and handmade creations including blown-glass art, quilts, chenille weaving, jewelry and pottery.... |
